Unfortunate ending to a good campaign.
It was a disappointing finish to the winter leagues for UCC Darts as both teams narrowly missed out on the play-offs. UCC 2 took it down to the wire and were still unsure of their fate after their final game with other results needing to go their way to qualify but this did not come to fruition. For UCC 1, a miraculous result was needed on the final day to even stand a chance of the play-offs while again depending on other results. Unfortunately, this did not happen either. It has been a great learning experience for both teams so far this year and I have no doubt that this will stand them in good stead for the Spring leagues. Darts is not finished just yet with the K-Cab fours starting next Monday, 1st December, with UCC 1 playing the winner of the Evergreen and The Tory Top while UCC 2 play CIT, both in neutral venues.
